- ✓How to connect your store in under 5 minutes
- ✓How to track clicks and conversions accurately
- ✓How to read your attribution reports and optimize ad spend
The Attribution Problem
Since iOS 14.5 and browser privacy updates, Facebook's ability to track conversions has been severely limited. This means:
- Facebook can't accurately report which ads drove sales
- Your Facebook Ads Manager shows incomplete data
- You're making advertising decisions based on 50-70% of actual data
- You might be scaling ads that don't work and pausing ones that do
💡 Real Example
A typical e-commerce store loses visibility on 30-50% of conversions due to iOS tracking restrictions. If you're spending $10,000/month on ads, you might be making decisions with only $5,000 worth of accurate data!
How Harper Solves This
Harper uses server-side tracking and advanced attribution techniques to recover the missing data:
Click Tracking
We capture every click from Facebook ads using the fbclid parameter, tracking user behavior even when cookies are blocked.
Conversion Tracking
When a purchase happens, we match it back to the original ad click using multiple data points including browser fingerprinting and user journey analysis.
Server-Side Tracking
We send conversion data directly to Facebook's Conversion API (CAPI), bypassing browser restrictions and improving your Facebook Ads reporting accuracy.
Multi-Touch Attribution
Track the entire customer journey from first click to final purchase, understanding which touchpoints contributed to the conversion.

Learn About Tracking →Key Concepts to Understand
Before diving in, here are a few important concepts:
Attribution Window
The time period after a click during which a conversion can be attributed to that ad. Default is 7 days, but you can customize this.
FBCLID (Facebook Click ID)
A unique identifier that Facebook adds to URLs when someone clicks an ad. This is how we track which ad led to a conversion.
Conversion API (CAPI)
Facebook's server-to-server tracking method that sends conversion data directly from your server to Facebook, bypassing browser restrictions.
Multi-Touch Attribution
Giving credit to multiple touchpoints in the customer journey (e.g., they clicked Ad A, then saw Ad B, then purchased). Helps understand the full path to purchase.
